Rev. Dr. Sandi B. Hutchinson, Pastor

Rev. Dr. Sandi Brandon Hutchinson is a native of Portsmouth, Va. and currently resides in the city of Chesapeake. She served as an educator, teaching and working in school administration for nearly 37 years. She has served on numerous Boards and Commissions including Parks and Recreation, the commission for Youth and Families, and as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Chesapeake. She serves as the first female Pastor for Historic Gabriel Chapel AME Zion Church in its 153 year history.

She has received numerous accolades and awards including being named a Chesapeake Icon during Black History month in 2018 and she was also honored as an outstanding female Pastor and leader in the Tidewater area during Women's History Month 2019.

She has served as the Director of Christian Education in the Va. Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church for 12 years. She is committed to developing credible, courageous, and committed disciples for Christ.

She is married to the Rev. Leon D. Hutchinson. She is the mother of two beautiful daughters, Tiffani-dawn Sykes who works at Grambling State University and Alexxis Hutchinson who works for Elizabeth City State University and serves as the director of the Youth Missionary Department for the Norfolk District. She has one granddaughter, Domenique.
